He's also presenting at two major sessions about the revolutionary greening initiatives CMC has designed in the groundbreaking Wealthy Theatre Centennial Sustainability Campaign. West Michigan 100 Strong recently awared $7,500 to Community Media Center's Wealthy Theatre, as part of the WT Centennial Sustainability Campaign!

Every quarter year, a group of 100 individuals band together as West Michigan 100 Strong, to vote on three final "contenders" for a gift to a nonprofit cause. In June, CMC / Wealthy Theatre made the cut and presented a request live, in person, in front of the group's members.

Jennifer Stewart, Ph.D., from the department of Socialogy at GVSU, contacted our office a few months back.  She wanted to use the Peter Wege Auditorium for a production to be put on by GVSU students - a 'theater of the opressed,' she said.

You may have heard by now that Wealthy Theatre is, indeed, 100 years old. You may have also heard about our Centennial Campaign that we launched January 1, 2011. With this campaign, we hope to cut overhead through greening initiatives, refresh technologies to maintain a competitive advantage, and broaden community accessibility; thereby helping propel Wealthy Theatre into it’s second century!
