Amazed, inspired, and most of all grateful

As we look back at the year 2012 here at Community Media Center, we’re very thankful for the generosity and outpouring of support for our services, programs and people.

We are amazed by the support of hundreds of individuals, organizations and institutions who gave so generously to our Sustainability Campaign at Wealthy Theatre. Hundreds more proclaimed their love for WYCE’s programming and The Rapidian’s citizen journalism platform, rallying to support us when we asked for help, and continuing that support beyond the fund drives by contributing stories and attending our events and celebrations.  And throughout the year,  in every way imaginable, we relied heavily on our amazing volunteers. We truly can't thank you enough.

We’re inspired by your comments, referrals and testimonials. In 2012 our IT Department was consistently praised for their expertise, their dedication to our nonprofit clients, and their helpful friendliness. One client even declared, “I think I’m in love with Community Media Center.”

In 2012, our Education Department forged new partnerships throughout the region, and our Media Production Services were commended for their consistent professionalism. All this praise makes us even more determined to provide the excellent service our community deserves.  And throughout, our history as a community cable operator has kept us grounded in the knowledge that when all can speak, our community is stronger. On GRTV and Livewire, creative productions by neighbors and friends, inspirational services for shut-ins, nonprofit information, and community conversations around challenging issues are delivered to televisions and computers every day.

So, most of all, we’re grateful.  Grateful for the trust and confidence you place in our hands as we assist you with your communication needs. The Grand Rapids Community Media Center exists to collect and distribute the extraordinary power of media and technology to give voice to others and to make our community stronger. We couldn’t do it without you.

Thank you for your support in 2012.  We look forward to working together to build community through media in 2013 and beyond.
