Board Member Application

The CMC is governed by a 15-member Board of Directors, nine of whom are elected by the membership. The Board operates on a modified Carver model of governance. Meetings are the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m., generally for two hours. Attendance at scheduled committee meetings and at an annual daylong retreat in February is expected. Board members also are expected to be vested in development activities at a level with which they are comfortable. Attendance at a CMC orientation is highly encouraged. Board members serve 3-year terms and may serve two consecutive terms.

¹Please Read: Federal law regulating our FCC license to operate WYCE-FM requires board members to be U.S. citizens. CMC bylaws require a majority of the board be Grand Rapids residents. Board members must be members in good standing of the CMC.
