About Channel Zero
Channel Zero is a youth based radio journalism project made by and for urban youth, ages 14-21. The project seeks to address the absence of web-based activities for this area's underserved urban populations. Channel Zero provides urban youth with the opportunity to learn radio production skills, while giving a much needed voice to individuals and communities oftentimes ignored by mainstream media. Additionally, it provides a communication platform in which issues of communal interest and relevance can be discussed. Channel Zero participants are trained in a variety of media-related activities, including media literacy, story development, interviewing/production techniques and, of course, radio production.
