So you want a blog. But do you really want a blog, or is what you really want a message board? This tends to be a large point of confusion for many of our members with sites created through the IT department. To help clear up the confusion I wanted to pass along a link to the CommonCraft blog where the author does an excellent job explaining the differences between these two technologies.

Many thanks to Josh Rose, Spence Mulder and Glean Infusion, for the extraordinary moments at Wealthy Theatre on Friday, February 20 - a fundraiser for CMC, Wealthy Theatre and WYCE.
Much money was raised to benefit CMC efforts to provide the tools and transmission that help local musicians share their talents with the community. Thanks to the expertise of CMC, these gifts can be downloaded by the international community. To those who attended this moving, jamming, artistic experiment... it was an experience we're all grateful for. ...

Wealthy Theatre's Peter Wege Auditorium was home to more great local music last night (2/6/09) courtesy of WYCE 88.1FM and Community Media Center (CMC) as Tomas Esparza and Delilah DeWylde filled the room with high-energy blues, country and western music. This was the final "Pre-Jammies" jam before the big event 2/17 at The Intersection (but you can still see some Jammies artist at our 2/10 "Shine On!" concert).

Grand Rapids Citizen Journalism Launches with Knight Grant

Grand Rapidians will have the opportunity to become citizen reporters with a soon-to-be established network of neighborhood news bureaus in the city, thanks to a $128,000 grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The Grand Rapids Community Foundation will use the funds to establish four neighborhood news bureaus in the city. Matching grants from the Community Foundation and other sources will round out the launch of program.
