The Neighborhood Services Department at Lighthouse Communities, Inc. received a grant in the amount of $2,000 from NeighborWorks America to facilitate this photovoice project within the Southtown Community of Grand Rapids. For those who are unfamiliar with the concept of photovoice, it is a community assessment through photos! As we all may know, a picture can say a thousand words and sometimes even more! The primary goal of this project was to capture some of the perspectives of the youth and elders of the community through pictures. There were also several interviews held with residents and community leaders who discussed their thoughts & feelings towards the neighborhoods within Southtown. Come out to see what people have to say!
