Security Flaws In Sun Java Runtime Enviroment (JRE)

Sun Microsystems has released three security advisories announcing five vulnerabilities that affect all previous versions of Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) running on Windows, Solaris and Linux platforms. By enticing a user to a malicious website or sending a user an HTML e-mail, an attacker can exploit any of these vulnerabilities to read and write to local files on a user's hard drive, or even to execute local applications on a user's PC. If a user has local administrative privileges, the attacker could potentially exploit this flaw to gain complete control of the machine.
