The CMC IT team recently worked with the Arena District to provide voting via text message at the finale of GR's Got Talent, a brand-new, multi-day talent competition that seeks to find and showcase the best performers in West Michigan.

Using a service called Twilio, we were able to have attendees at the show send a simple text message with an act's name and the website was able to keep track of all of the votes. We also decided to keep people from voting for the same act more than once, but still allow them to vote for other acts....

This new event combines the rubber chicken, a symbol for LaughFest after setting a Guiness World Record for most rubber chickens tossed at once to kick off last years event, and the fine dining available in the downtown area.
