How do I buy tickets online? [back to top]

Our online purchase system is easy and inexpensive.  Check the full event listings to peruse events and buy tickets - or go directly to our concise Buy Tickets page.  Events with tickets for sale will feature a clickable link, with all pricing options.

With online ticketing, you can buy tickets anytime, day or night - as a paperless theatre, we'll place you on the will-call list for easy admittance on the night of the event. Just bring your state ID / driver's license. 

Please note: CMC members receive discounts on most ticketed events, which can offset service fees.  CMC members receive many benefits, including some free events - and bar privileges at Wealthy Theatre.  

Why do I have to create a User Logon to buy tickets? [back to top]

*CMC Members do not need to create a User Logon account.

User Logons involve minimal information that is required to process a credit card transaction.  None of your contact information is retained after the event completes, unless you elect to receive updates from us. 

User Logins allow us to send an email confirmation to you, as a receipt of purchase.  Also, we can notify you if there are any changes to the event (i.e. inclement weather delays the start time) or if it is canceled for any reason.  Additionally, we can provide helpful information relating to that specific event, about any traffic detours or special details that might benefit your experience at that event.  Finally, a User Login allows you to come back and verify your purchase anytime, and even add additional tickets to the order. 

Additionally, when you come back to Wealthy Theatre's website next time, you'll be able to logon without entering any contact information, and buy tickets easily and quickly. 

You can also upgrade your User Login to a CMC membership easily and inexpensively, and qualify for ticket discounts and bar privileges at Wealthy Theatre.

How do I buy tickets by phone or in person? [back to top]

Tickets can be purchased by phone at 616-459-4788 x131 during the hours of 2-7pm weekdays.  All telephone (credit card) purchases have an associated merchant services fee for processing, in the amount of 10 percent of face value of the ticket (i.e. $9 ticket has a ninety cent service fee.)

CMC Members receive ticket discounts at many events, which can offset service fees completely (and then some!)

During these hours (2-7pm weekdays) tickets also can be purchased in person with cash, check or credit card at the Administrative Office (door just west of main entrance doors).  Please ring the doorbell at the Administrative Entrance during these hours.

Tickets can be purchased in person for ANY event 45 minutes prior to any other ticketed event.

Online tickets are available anytime, day or night.  

Can I buy tickets with credit card? [back to top]

Yes!  Credit card purchases are available in four ways:

• Online (for advance tickets) at a low service fee.
• In person at the Box Office 45 minutes prior to any ticketed event.
• In person, 2-7pm weekdays, in our Main Office (Wealthy Theatre).
• By phone at (616) 459-4788 x131 from 2-7pm weekdays
• By faxing this completed form to (616) 742-0125.

Compared to other venues, Wealthy Theatre service fees - as low as 50 cents, depending on ticket price - are among the least expensive anywhere.  Our low service fees - much lower than many other venues - are assessed to credit card purchases to pay for merchant service fees for processing the transaction. 

The amount of the service fee (ten percent of face value of the ticket) varies depending on discounts, and ticket price. 

CMC members often receive ticket discounts that offset service fees (and then some!)

Can I pay with cash or check? [back to top]

Yes!  You can pay with cash anytime 2-7pm weekdays, or 45 minutes prior to any event (when Box Office opens). 

We accept checks in advance 72 hours prior to any event, made payable to CMC.

Purchasing tickets online is the most convenient way to get your tickets to Wealthy Theatre events - often with member discounts on tickets that offset minor service fees.

Is there Reserved Seating? [back to top]

Currently all seating at Wealthy Theatre and the Micro-Cinema are General Admission.  But rest assured, there isn't a bad seat in the house. 

By Fall 2010, select events will feature Reserved Seating via online purchase.

What is "paperless ticketing" and why is this done? [back to top]

As part of our Centennial (2011) greening initiative at Wealthy Theatre, we have chosen to go paperless whenever possible - event ticketing is one way that paper tickets can be replaced by computer software.  Our IT Services Dept created custom ticketing software that has provided a paperless system, and it has worked spectacularly!  In fact, in 2009 we processed tens of thousands of dollars of ticketing transactions without error - a happy success in an ambitious series of initiatives that will make Wealthy Theatre a national model for green renovations in a historic venue.  A perfect complement to one of the greenest cities per capita in the United States, the great city of Grand Rapids.

How do I get my physical tickets? [back to top]

In general, Wealthy Theatre operates a will-call system, so your name is put on a list once you've purchased tickets.  Online purchases receive a PDF via email; in-person purchases can receive a voucher and will be placed on the will-call list.

When are the box office hours? [back to top]

Tickets are available by calling or visiting Wealthy Theatre between 2-7pm weekdays.  During this time, simply enter the Administrative Entrance and the Main Office is located to the right. 

Also, the Box Office opens 45 minutes prior to any event, for in-person sales - during this time, tickets can be purchased for any event on our calendar. 

Online tickets are available anytime, 24 hours/day.

Can I buy tickets the night of the event? [back to top]

Any remaining tickets will be available at the door, 45 minutes prior to event start ("curtain") time.  In the rare event that an event has no advance tickets available, all tickets will be available at this time, when doors open.

Most advance-ticket discounts end at 12:01am the day of the event, so purchases must be made the day prior, or earlier.  Ticket discount packages are determined by the event producer.

How much are tickets? [back to top]

How are CMC service fees so low?     [back to top]

Wealthy Theatre tickets have the lowest surcharge fees you'll find anywhere.  Period.  Because we only pass on the merchant fees charged by credit card companies: no "convenience fees," or building/facility charges, handling fees, etc.  Furthermore, CMC Members receive discounts at many events, which often offset any service fees (and then some!)

Just take a look at what the other guys are charging, using a purchase of $60 worth of tickets, as an example:
