The Pop Scholars are an improvisational comedy troupe from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Well versed in short-form improv, Pop Scholars plagiarized a page from the Chicago scene in May 2009 and began performing long form improvisation, a lengthier set of scenes centered on one suggestion.

While normal improvised comedy comprises the majority of a Pop Scholars show, there are occasional forays into musical improvisation. Each show is fast paced, unique and a creation all its own.

"Birth Story: Ina May Gaskin and The Farm Midwives captures a spirited group of women who taught themselves how to deliver babies on a 1970's hippie commune, rescued modern midwifery from extinction, and changed the way a generation thought about childbirth. Today, as nearly 1/3 of all US babies are born via C-section, they labor on, fighting to preserve their knowledge and pushing, once again, for the rebirth of birth."

Some of the best within the West Michigan birth community have come together to make this movie showing...
